Jennilee is an author, editor, public speaker, community researcher, and the founder of “Filipino Talks“– a school board initiative that builds bridges between educators and Filipino families.
Her articles have appeared in Wanderful, The Philippine Reporter, and Rabble, and her stories have been published in TAYO Literary Magazine, LooseLeaf Literary Magazine, Akdang Dayo, and Room. In 2017, she won an emerging author’s award from the Ontario Book Publishers Organization, and in 2019, she was shortlisted for the Room Short Forms contest.
Jennilee is a graduate of the Humber School for Writers and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. After completing her Masters in Immigration and Settlement, her work counselling newcomers inspired her to write stories about families in the Filipino diaspora. She spends a lot of time thinking about Filipinos– and celebrating them, too.
